Hey! Today is June 1st and… it is the World Milk Day!
Milk contains a lot of vitamins, calcium and proteins, which are very important for your whole body, bones and muscles. People tend to forget about it and this day should encourage the drinking of milk.
So don’t forget to drink milk!

Japan Day

Hey everyone!

Today is – as you can see- Japan Day in Düsseldorf! It is a German-Japanese festival celebrated every year in May and June to strenghten the friendship of these two countries. Millions of people visit this festival every year! You can buy japanese food, drinks and enjoy japanese sports which are presented on a stage to introduce them to the visitors.
As every year there will be competitions in manga, cosplay and karaoke, lots of games such as Go and – not to forget – the special act of the group Jelly Beans! You can also enjoy the beautiful weather by going for a walk along the Rhine river and take a look to the stalls showcasing Japanese culture!
Other than that you can buy kimonos, merchandise, foot, water-yoyos and a lot of other things common in Japan! You can even see a samurai army camp!
In the evening – around 23 o’ clock – you can enjoy japanese fireworks which end this celebration. They consist of several parts and each is dedicated to a different topic (sometimes you can see beautiful hearts in the sky!).

Even though I’m not good at introducing things to others because I’m still learning, I hope you enjoyed my review!

Towel Day

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

Yes, that’s right. Today is the day of healthy eating! (At least in Germany) For that reason I wanted to write about it and to tell you how you can stay healthy or improve your healthiness!
Years ago I wanted to be a nutritionist because I was really interested in food and how you can cook something really delicious in order to lose weight or to be healthy. It is actually really easy, if you pay attention to what you are eating and what you should eat.

It is important to have a balanced diet. That implies to drink a lot of water, to eat low-fat food, fruits, vegetable and carbohydrates (I don’t really know where Heidi Klum gets her energy, due to the fact that she doesn’t eat any pasta, potatoes or bread… But yes, fat has energy, too. But for me it is really hard to be active without any carbohydrates).

The Ten Commandments for Healthy Eating

1. Drink sufficiently
For a healthy diet you should drink a lot of water. The best thing you can do is to drink at least 2L. If you hate to drink water because it tastes boring, you can dilute it with your favourite flavour. You can mix it with strawberry, apple, orange, raspberry or cranberry syrup or juice! (You can also drink milk. It contains a lot of vitamins, calcium and protein!)
Water is really important for the transport of nutrients and metabolic products. Moreover, drink less coffee or abandon it completely, since coffee and black tea are bad for the stomach.
I prefer green tea because it helps my skin and my healthiness.

2. Reduce fat
Too much fat can be unhealthy. Try to avoid too fatty food and eat low-fat products as lean meat, potatoes, rice, pasta, vegetable and fruits!

3. Reduce meat
Too much meat is unhealthy. Twice a week is completely enough to get your iron dose.

4. Eat a lot of vegetable and fruits
This way you get lots of vitamins and minerals your body cannot produce himself.

5. Eat fish once a week
Fish is rich in important albumins and polyunsaturates (e.g. omega-3 fatty acids) as well as vitamin B12 and D.

6. Whole grain products
Wholemeal rice or pasta are burned slower than normal white flour. Therefore you stay longer sated!

7. Use less salt
Salt absorbs the water that is important to your body unnecessarily.

8. Healthy Oil/Fat
Oil is an important energy source. For that reason you should chose the right one to stay healthy and to not gain weight. Avoid saturated fatty acids, which you can find in butter, cream, mayonnaise and meat. These oils are stored easily by the body and you gain weight and get ill, if you eat too much of them. Therefore use more oil with a lot of unsaturated fatty acid. E.g olive oil. It helps as a nutrient for cells and nerves. (Oh and another interesting thing: If you add olive oil to your salad, the vitamins it contains can be absorbed better by your body!)

9. Abandon alcohol
For a healthy body you should avoid alcohol. It is bad for your skin and body!

10. Eat with great relish
Take delight in eating! Have fun and enjoy your tasty dinner!

I’m not trying to tell you what you have to eat. I only tell you what I have learned about food and how you can stay healthy. Of course, you can eat whatever you want, but if you want to improve your health or your skin, you should know how! Then everything comes from the inside.
